DAR Chapter House is one of a handful of chapter houses owned and maintained by DAR members in the United States. Designed by architect Daniel Riggs Huntington, a Seattle City Architect, our chapter house is a replica of George Washington's home in Mt. Vernon, Virginia. Huntington's designs include the Fremont Library, the Lake Union Steam Plant, Wallingford Fire Station and several memorable homes on Queen Anne Hill.
The Chapter House was originally built for members' meetings and for rental to the general public. Situated in the Harvard-Belmont Landmark District of Capitol Hill, this venue is a distinctive home for the community to use.
